Udah lama jg sih jalannya sebenernya..

um.. bulan februari akhir, tanggal 20-an sampe 28 kalo gak salah..
hahah.. puass.. hampir seminggu di sono.. 😀

perjalanan 2 x 24 jam.. bulak-balik.. 😛

Ok.. so, dimulai dengan berangkat pagi2.. jam 4 subuh… kita ngejar bis jam 4.30. Sampe di bandara incheon, kepagian ternyata..hehe.. loketnya baru buka jam 8 kurang.. kita berangkat jam 9.30.

Febi_uk

gua nelusurin panjaaaang banget buat nyari terminal yg dimaksud. Terus.. sempet nyoba jg toilet duduknya, asik bet.. udah ada tisu buat alas pant*t . Gua ambil atu buat oleh2.. 😛

niat bettt.. 😛

temanya ngirit.

bandaranya apa yak, gua lupa..

Demi menghemat duit… huhuhu…

Sempet salah jg waktu itu, beli tiket paling murah, ternyata.. tiket dibayar pake kartu kredit, jadi yg mahal pun gak masalah.. *doh*.. dan keburu bayar pake duit pribadi.. huhuhu..

Web_sdc10759

Naek kereta antar kota.. enak tempat duduknya.. hehe

Perjalanan sekitar 45 menit, tiket seharga 19 pounds. @[email protected] .. muahal…

Web_sdc10782

narsis duyu..

sampe di cambridge.. cukup tercengang.. betapa banyak orang india di situ.. ternyata gak cuma di cambridge.. di london pun banyak orang india.. 😀

Web_sdc10815

Presentasiiii… akhirnya..

abis itu, lega deh, kayak orang abis buang aer.. 😀

Febi_uk1

Jalan2 keliling cambridge..

Terus.. di hari ke-tiga, kita (gua ama dhino) ketemu young han.. dia agak telat datangnya.

Tadinya mau bareng pak Aries, tapi dia gak sempet dapet visa.. :S telat apply-nya.. gara2 perubahan venue conferencenya yg tadinya di india berubah jadi bareng ama conference gua di UK..

Web_sdc10785

Abubakr Siddiq Islamic Centre. Kita sempet sholat jumat di sana, alhamdulillah..

Gua seneng, bisa ketemu muka2 islam.. udah lama gak ketemu orang islam sebanyak itu.. di korea biasanya cuma 20-an paling banyak kalo sholat jumat.

Terus, soal makanan halal.. dah cukup banyak tempat2 yg bilang.. “Halal” ..

Tapi kebanyakan menu chicken sih or burger..

kebab jg ada.. banyak orang india or pakistan kayaknya.. *gua gak nanya mereka dari mana lah.. * 😛

Mereka bikin pabrik sendiri yg memproduksi daging halal.. ^^

Web_sdc10863

Gak sadar poto di samping sebuah chapel yg terletak di belakang mall di cambridge. Dua panda sedang bercengkrama.. mengunyah bambu.. 😀

Kita udah jalan2 seharian waktu itu.. cuapek.. ahhaha…

Udah ke setiap sudut cambridge.. *eh gak jg sih*

Terus.. dikit menunya.. tapi alhamdulilah deh..

O ya.. di UK gua makan roti melulu tiap hari..

yg akhirnya membuat gua MUAK dengan ROTI…aaaaaaaargggggggh

terutama roti bagel.. yg kering keras ituuuuuu

aaaaaaaaahhh

gua jadi males makan keju lagi sekarang. >.
hiks..hiks..

demi mode ngirit.. gua makan roti tiap hari. selama 5 hari.. Tapi itu pengalaman berharga.. benar2 jadi warga UK.. 🙂

Web_sdc10901

Sebelum pamit.. kita poto2 bareng ama pemilik Canterburry House..

cukup enak tempatnya.. 🙂

recommended jg deh..

tapi sebenernya, kalo mau modal nekad, gak usah mesen dulu, dateng aja langsung, cari yg paling murah.. huehue…

di sana banyak info jg tempel2an yg isinya nawarin motel murah.. *nekad*

Web_sdc10907

Postingan menyusul berikutnya soal pengalaman di london.. ama satu lagu mungkin, soal cambridge itu sendiri.. 🙂

Here is the list of Post related to World Student of Korea (WSK) 3rd Camp.
And here is a video of our journey.. 🙂

bismillah..

This one will be my last post about WSK 3rd Camp..

I have so many post debt.. including my trip to England.. hoho.. but this one, I’ll finish this.

So, my mood was missing this few days when I tried to post through Mail application in my Mac. It just crashed.. eeww… but tonight, I managed to put it on.. and bring the story to you.. ^^

Dscf1509

So we were visiting the Joseon Dinasty.. or we usually call it.. Lee Dinasty, since the family ran the kingdom was from Lee of Jeonju. Um.. The first king was King Saejong, and the area occupied.. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a6/Locator_map_of_Korea.svg . Also, Jeonju was once the capital city of the Baek Jae Kingdom.. the kingdom before the era of Joseon Dinasty.

So, we were visiting their resident, actually it was not resident like home, but more like a temple. Yet there three gates guarding the entrance and there were some private area still belong to the living descendent of Lee family. Unfortunately, when we came there, the area was in refinement. So, we couldn’t come near to the buddha statue sitting there. Anyway, there were so many symbolization of things. For example, there are three door in each gate. The left, right and center. The right is for entrance, and intentionally placed at the east. The left one *we are talking from the point of view of coming* are for exit, placed at the west. Just like the sun rises from east, and set on the west. Meanwhile, the center door, at the four times size, are specifically for the King path.

There was also a Red Gate, believed to be protecting from bad evil. The gate was placed between the first and second gate.

Another symbolization was the color used by the king suit in the painting. The color of King Saejeong was Yellow, symbolize the “beginning” of kingdom.. and there was also the color of red, symbolize wealth. Blue symbolize … ah.. i forgot.. kkk sorry.

II think same like china, dragon is believed to be a holy creature. The king will have dragon carved in his statue or printed in his suit. Having 5 claws.. if you wonder, why is it odd? yes.. it is odd, it has 5 claws.. not 4 or 6. and the claws were placed in series, none of them aligned horizontally. Kind of weird right? :S but that’s how the dragon was described.. and five is a perfect number just for the king. The Prince might only have four claws in dragon, prime minister three.. and so on..

She is our guide that day.. 🙂

Stylish I think.. kk

In the area of temple, so many bamboo trees, since the bamboo is very useful for many things. In indonesia, we can make almost everything from bamboo.. 😀

We also fought the inlander using sharpen bamboo (Bambu Runcing)

Dscf1511

The kingdom was running for more than 300 years, it has a long history as kingdom in Korea. It even has a library building called Jenju Sago.. store books and records from the kingdom as displayed below.

Dscf1514

This one is some kind of memorials, I forgot what was really written there, with chinese letters. As you can see, there is a toddler beneath the rock. Toddler symbolize long live.. since it can live for hundreds of years.. and it also can swim, so it is likely to survive in any terrain.

Dscf1515

In jeonju, the famous one is its Jeonju Bibimbap… I don’t really understand what’s the difference is .. kkk um.. bibimbap actually just like a meal in my country called “Gado-Gado”, it means “everything  mixed”. It was quite delicious actually, yet I don’t like vegetables.. sorry.. 😀

Dscf1540

Next to visit is some traditional medicine center. The potion made from animals.. such as lizard.. kkkk

Dscf1520

Here are some patients waiting for their turn.. 😀

Dscf1524

Do you know about Korea Paper? called Hanjin (한진) . The main difference is on the texture and strength of it compared to the chinese or japanese paper. Hanjin is thin, even a light quite much passed through it. It is made from Bulberry branches. This time, we visited the traditional way of Korea Paper factory.

Dscf1526

The above picture is the young tree, and below is the raw materials that will be mixed with water and let to be a paper pulp, prepared for the next process..

Dscf1527

This is the fan, made using hanjin..

🙂

We will decorate it.. using a glue and color papers..

Dscf1533

Here is our tutor today.. I don’t know her name.. 😛

anyway.. she said that there are three things famous from Jeonju, first one is Bibimbap, the king only wants Jeonju Bibimbap for his lunch.. hoho

The second one is Jeonju paper, exported to Japan and China.. the king only wanted to use Jeonju paper to write.. hoho.. 😀

The last one is .. let me try to remember it.. um…

ah.. the Fan it self.. 😀

so, they are still making Jeonju fan, made of hanjin, given to the Korean officer every years as a new years gifts or some special occasions. 🙂

Dscf1534

I took their pictures with their masterpiece.. see.. looks wonderful.. 🙂

Dscf1535

And this is the one I made.. as I mentioned from my previous post.. inspired by the Hanbok Letter.. 😀 here

11022943-DSCF1556
We went inside to the factory..
I think about 3000 sheets of paper produced in the factory.

And the special thing is all done by hand.. so, it’s gonna be quite pricey i think.. 😀

Dscf1530

Dscf1529

These are the dry paper.. ready for cutting..

Dscf1531

At the exit.. we saw some hanbok made of paper.. 😀

Um.. wonder.. then we found out that they are only worn by dead people.. kkk
I was worried about the sweat that will torn the paper actually.. 😛

And.. the clothes will be buried along with other precious things the person had in life..

Dscf1532

I think..

that will wrap up our journey..

we had so much new things to learn..

🙂

We had a new understanding of Korea
not only by what we usually see.. but the history and culture we explored in just a very short period, but it marks in my mind…

I think, I fell in love with Korea in some ways.. hehe..

That’s why I intended to continue my study here. 🙂 still considering though..

There is a very important thing I need to make clear now in Indonesia.. hoho.. after that finished. i can move forward… insya Allah.. *by God’s permission*

see you on my next journey post..

*sooo many debttt.. hoho.. post debt @[email protected] *

O yeah.. I forgot to mention that we will have the 4th camp this 27th.. hoho.. 4 days trip.. ^^

100715-0001

hehe..narsisan dulu.. 😀
bismillah..

Pansori (판소리) was performed that night.. opened by performance of two people, one with Saeng Hwang and a man with some kind of drum called Buk ( 북 ). They were playing a very relaxing tones… I think it will be suitable for having a cup of tea or coffee together..

I was just thinking that they played using improvisation, that the Saeng Hwang will lead the tune, and Buk will only follow the rythm… got reminded some folk music too in my country, especially Sundanese music.. they play a very relaxing tone too.. feels like you were in a wood.. lay your body on the grass… so relaxing. And the tune feels like coming from china.

Just try to compare this

and this.. 😀

WSK 3rd Camp .. A New Understanding of Korea (4): Performance Night

Another group of players was coming. They have the flute.. shaped as small organ.. wow.. hehe.. never thought that the large organ will fit in that small pipes.. :S but looks interesting.

Jul_3_20101

Next performance was from a kind of mix between modern and traditional instrument, performing the Pansori, with one lead singer. There are two traditional blow instrument, and two others are modern music instruments. I didn’t really know what the singer sang about, but the tune was kind of sad. :S .. yes.. I should learn more on Korean.. *doh*

Dscf1473

This is the opening..

I became remembered by “Lenong” play in my home town.. 😀 hehe.. there is a yell like that.. 😀

A the end of the play.. arirang was performed..

This is the lyric from my Korean class.. 😀

200909162053_01128

The group performed some free style like jazz too, and a special performance of Besame Mucho.. from the lead blow instrument.. I don’t know his name, but it was interesting using the small trumpet just like a saxofon.. hoho…

and Besame Mucho

Dscf1483

I think Indonesia has quite much of similarities.. in music. Music is universal can be true in this case.. 🙂 I feel like how we entertain our selves is very much the same.

That was the night.. we had the performance only for about one and a half hour. It was short, since a pansori could be performed in 16 hours non stop.. wew.. what a great trial that is.. We headed back home that night.. and some of them watch the world cup match. I slept that time.. very sleepy.. kkk..

One more post will be following.. the last day of camp.

Sorry that these was not a continuous posts.. I had some mood up and down, and had so many things to do… ^^

bismillah..

It was a regular night.. something different is only that we are gathered in one room, having 반찬( bancha ) some kind of compilation of dishes shared among few people. I was sitting among my Indonesian friends and one Ajerbaizan friend that I just knew that day.

Dscf1426
Dscf1427

Angga and Orlav *CMIIW*

We had this wonderful dinner also with the bulgogi soup.. that I still forgot the name.. kkk

Orlav said that he just bought a new camcorder, as you can see in the background, at the very cheap price, since it’s the last item.. only US $ 108,- . I think it’s very cheap, though still using a standard definition video.. *High Definition (HD) has gained popularity among camcorders, just like a new basic requirement – very OOT*

Anyway.. after dinner, we head to the gathering room..

Dscf1419

We are going to have some games… hoho.. 😀

Dscf1429

Preparation…

Dscf1430

Mr. Handsome Joe *CMIIW* 😛

He was showing the trophy we will get, a smiling ball.. with differente color.

….

So.. this games was censored.. since contains explicit content.. hahaha…

The point is.. we have some game to just say hi and hello to others, and then hug, and then we do the rock, paper, scissor.. and the winner will have a token from the looser.. hoho.. the token will be sticked at the face, like this!!!

Dscf1435

I only got 6.. T_T .. compared to the others.. four of them got 13… hoho.. they sure hugged a lot.. 😀

Dscf1433

Those winners then do a final match of rock, paper, scissor… getting the absolute team winner…

The next game is a match of dance among the team leader.. there in the video, our team leader.. Dwi is at the center, with Raj and Orlav at the sides…

[jwplayer mediaid=”157″]
[jwplayer config=”Default” mediaid=”157″]

They were having crazy dance.. LOL…

11350626-DSCF1445

Angga and Dwi Duet.. kkk

11350627-DSCF1446

At the end of the final game… our team got second position.. while others got first.. aaaaah..it was kinda irritating.. we got the last after all.. :'(

And the game was closed by a cut of cake.. celebrating the new WSK batch.. 🙂

Dscf1447
